Seit einiger Zeit ist die GameJackal Seite offline mit folgenden Hindweis :

Das Forum steht noch. Wie es aussieht hat die Australische Regierung Gesetze ähnlich dem Deutschen gegen Anti-Kopierschutzsoftware veröffentlicht.
Im offiziellen SlySoft Forum gibt es jetzt die Rubrik Game Jackal. Eine offizielle Pressemitteilung ist noch nicht vorhanden. Diverse Forumsmitglieder posten bereits Wunschträume, was SlySoft mit der Entwicklungslizenz alles machen könnte.

GameJackal ist erst vor kurzem in Europa mit mehreren Sprachen veröffenltich worden und hat inzwischen eine große Fan-Gemeinde.

Ich persönlich stehe dieser Beziehung eher skeptisch gegenüber. Wenn man betrachtet was SlySoft mit CloneCD macht, sollte man hoffen, dass sich dies mit GameJackal nicht wiederholt. Weiter bleibt die Frage was User mit einer alten gekauften Lizenz anfangen, sobald SlySoft die Vermarktung übernimmt.

Die Zukunft wird es zeigen.

Besser seltene GameJackal-Updates als gar keine :-).

das hab ich ja auch im gefühl aber es gibt meiner meinung nach kein besseres. weil einfach simple und klein :D

Jetzt ist es offiziell, Slysoft übernimmt den Vertrieb und die Entwicklung von Game Jackal.

acquired Game Jackal from Australian software company Jacal
Consulting. All further development of Game Jackal has been

law, Jacal Consulting had to take down the Game Jackal website
in January and SlySoft took this opportunity to complement our

"The first release of SlySoft Game Jackal will come at the end of March",
SlySoft's Marketing Director, Tom Xiang, said. "We will be adding a few
new features and some more languages. However, for our first release,
our main focus will be the changeover to the SlySoft license system,
with free lifetime updates. Old Game Jackal users can be easily
upgraded to a SlySoft license, for no more than 10 USD."

womit kann ich gj eigentlich am besten vergleichen? wiel das klingt einfach für mich nach einem virtuellen laufwerk wie daemontools.

Ich glaube, dass GameJackal damals nicht als lebenslange Lizenz verkauft wurde. SlySoft tut dies aber. Das kann von Vorteil sein, muss es aber nicht. Die Käufer von CloneCD werden es sicher bereut haben, AnyDVD-Kunden sehen das evtl. anders :-).

warum sollte ich mich freunen als clonecd besitzer?
